The history of Indian architecture can be traced from several centuries back . India is know for various styles of art and structure. Its has vast description and vivid designs. The three main styles of Indian architecture are Nagara style, Dravida style, Vesara style.
A listing of UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Konark Surya Narayana Temple has an attractive twelve pairs of wheels at its base which act like clocks – spokes of the wheels resemble a sundial. One can find the time looking at the shadow of spokes. Not just that this 13th century temple is also known for its using of electromagnetic sciences in the construction of this temple .the main idol was said to be floating in the air due to arrangement of these mangets in a unique way.
The great Bhrihadeeshwarayalaya in Tanjore is known for its main temple being completely in granite. This 11th century temple is built by using almost 150000 tons of granite. But the shocking fact is that granite was not found anywhere around the temple within the radius of 100kms.
Iron pillar in Qutub complex Delhi is known for its unique rust proof alloy mixture. This pillar weighing 6000 kgs is coated with crystalline iron hydrogen phosphate hydrate to protect it from harsh climate changes. This was constructed in 4th century when rest of the world found galvanizing only in16th century.
Gol gumbaz a tomb located in Bijapur Karnataka built in 17th century.  the mausoleum has one of the biggest single chamber spaces in the world. The dome is known as the “Whispering Gallery” where even the softest sound can be heard.
Hawa mahal is a palace in Rajasthan is constructed in red sand stone. This palace of winds is known for its cooling affect caused by the Venturi  effect through the unique pattern and thereby air conditioning the whole area even during summers.
Shore Temple Mahabalipuram another UNESCOWorld Heritage Site is a 1st century temple on the shore of Bay of Bengal  the roofs of the temples have ornamentation .It took three generation and almost two hundred years to plan and built this temple. This was constructed from top to bottom in contradiction to the general practice of constructing from bottom to top.
Taj Mahal, Agra Mysore Palace, Mysore Harmandir Sahib, AmritsarBahai Temple, DelhiChhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, MumbaiVictoria Memorial, Kolkata Qutub Minar, Delhi Sanchi Stupa, Sanchi Terracotta Temples of Bishnupur,Nalanda University,Champaner-Pavagarh Archaeological Park,Rani ki Vav in Gujarat,Unakoti Rock Cut, Bhimbetka caves,Lothal Ajanta caves Agar Fort etc . Like this the list is too long. It’s a golden chance a one gets to visit such places. Now its the duty of  every Indian to protect these rare assets of our country.
