Bollywood’s search for an Indian superhero that can stand the test of time continues with A Flying Jatt. The movie offers a refreshing twist, as unlike the conventional serious looking superheroes, the flying jatt, Aman (played by Tiger Shroff) is a reluctant superhero who is afraid of heights and dogs. He will make you laugh and chuckle, as he stumbles and fumbles in his heroic missions and the times when he is reprimanded by his mother Mrs. Dhillon (Amrita Singh), such as when she asks him to use his powers to save the world rather than wasting it on trying to impress his girl. There are plenty of other rib-tickling moments that make the movie hugely entertaining.
The movie sets the tone for things to come with the introduction of fearful Aman, who is yet to discover his superhuman abilities. He faces his greatest fears when he has to deal with the depraved industrialist Malhotra (Kay Kay), who wants to grab his ancestral land. Malhotra wants to expand his industrial empire and for that he needs Aman’s ancestral land. To accomplish his task, Malhotra sends his seemingly indomitable henchman Raka (Nathan) to take on Aman. Will Aman be able to overcome his fears, successfully tackle Malhotra and Raka and protect his family’s interests?
The best thing about A Flying Jatt is its simplicity. Tiger Shroff has delivered a good performance and it’s likely that you will instantly come to love his goofy character Aman. Jacqueline comes across as a bubbly girl, who makes the right moves when it comes to playing a superhero’s love interest. Kay Kay and Nathan Jones have also delivered good performances.
With its innocence and simplicity, A Flying Jatt would appeal to children, making it a good movie to watch with the entire family. Go for it!
