Duration: 2 hours 7 minutes

The secretive nature of India’s external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and its workings, have always generated immense interest among the citizens of the country. Not much is officially known about the agency, its influence, and its role, things that allow movie makers a free hand to interpret and present them in a manner they deem suitable. Force 2 is based on one such interpretation and quite nicely presented, something that has been receiving decent reviews from the audience. The movie is dedicated to the Heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country and yet remained unnamed and unrecognized.
The movie starts to weave the story, as Indian RAW agents are being killed globally. Inspector Yash (John Abraham) from Mumbai police gets provoked when he learns that one of the RAW agents killed was his best friend. Before his death, the friend reveals to Yash that such killings are part of a larger plan that needs to be identified and stopped. Based on this information, Yash approaches RAW and even though he does not have formal training as a RAW agent, he offers to help and clean the system. He teams up with RAW agent KK (Sonakshi Sinha) and begins the hunt to capture the culprits involved. They soon discover that one of their own, Shiv Sharma (Tahir Raj Bhasin), an employee of the Indian Embassy in Budapest, is secretly passing information about RAW agents to people who want to destroy India’s spy network.
The movie works in parts; at some places the action sequences will amaze you whereas at other instances, you will find this spy story to be largely generic in nature. The movie is fast paced though, which works in its favor. John Abraham displays his intensity and anger, as he breaks jaws and lifts cars. Sonakshi Sinha looks pretty, but could have done better in her role, if her script would have been stronger.
Force 2 may not be a must-watch, but it doesn’t disappoint either. If you like thrillers and spy stories, this one may just work for you.
