Not Deepika, Sonam to romance Salman in Barjatya’s next

Many names were tabled for Sooraj Barjatya’s next flick starring Salman Khan in the lead but none of those names worked out due to some reasons or the other. Now, the new name that is coming up for Barjatya’s new flick is the ‘Saawariya’ girl, Sonam Kapoor. It is almost confirmed that Sonam Kapoor will star opposite Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s next.
"We are working on the dates, 99 per cent we will decide about the leading lady in a day or two. Most likely, it is Sonam who is going to act in the film," said a source from Rajshree productions.
Salman Khan has made a guest appearance in Sonam Kapoor’s debut film, ‘Saawariya’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and now the couple will romance in full length.
It is heard that Deepika Padukone walked out of the project due to date issue. “Sooraj ji met her (Deepika) at a party. Talks are on with her but nothing is finalized yet. Lot of actresses have interest in this film and he is meeting other actresses as well,” sources close to the development told PTI in Dec 2013.
“We have not finalized anyone yet. Lots of speculation is happening over the heroine of the film. Things will be finalized in 15 days or so,” the source said.

Several names were suggested including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ilena D’Cruz, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra, Nargis Fakhri and Deepika Padukone but finally it is Sonam Kapoor who grabbed the meaty role.
The untitled film is likely to go on floors in June this year.
