Dhoom 3 movie review: Perfect amalgamation of action and romance

Film: Dhoom 3
Cast: Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Uday Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan
Director: Vijay Krishna Acharya
Story line: While Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are reprising their iconic roles of Jai Dixit and Ali in this movie directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is playing the anti-hero of the film. The story of the film revolves around Saahir, the clown thief, essayed by Aamir Khan, and the cat- and- mouse game that he plays with Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra).Katrina Kaif also features in Dhoom 3 produced under the Yash Raj Films banner. The seductive Katrina plays Aliya, the acrobat diva.
Like its earlier edition, the story of Dhoom3 has nothing unique in its story plot. As the earlier movies, both Abhishek and Uday are busy in getting hold of the thief, who fools them with his chases and strategies.  There might be several reasons for recreating the entire scene, but it would be better if viewers watch this flick and then come up with conclusions.
Movie Review: Dhoom 3 has each and every ingredient which is required for a film to be a blockbuster. It offers what you are looking for. The exciting robbing sequences and thunderous stunts are enough to hold your breath. Be it songs, opulent sets, powerful stunts and steamy romance, Dhoom 3 has got everything in it.Kudos to Katrina Kaif, for playing the role of an acrobat diva so convincingly. She displays the energy like never before while performing stunts and unusual dance.
Reportedly, Aamir has undergone rigorous physical training for playing the role of a circus acrobat. It seems that his sweat and blood has played off well. Like his other films, Aamir looks phenomenal.
Giving a solid competition to Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan has also done a good job in his role of a police officer.  There is an appraisal in the performance of Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra’s performance. The trademark style of Uday and Abhishek is once again lovable.
Music by Pritam is outstanding and the title track ‘Dhoom Machale’, takes lead among all the other songs.
The movie will not only be remembered and appreciated for being the third edition of Dhoom, this action-thriller will mark a place for itself as an independent and strong movie. One will surely realize after watching the movie that Dhoom 3 stands by its words ‘This year will end with a Dhoom’.

Sholay 3D movie preview: Relive magic of Sholay in new avatar

Sholay featured Dharmendra as Veeru, Amitabh as his friend Jai and their awesome friendship. Hema Malini played the effervescent Basanti and the late Amjad Khan played iconic villain Gabbar Singh. The role of Gabbar Singh in Sholay is the most popular and so are his dialogues. Although, the movie boasted cast of superstars Amitabh and Dharmendra, Gabbar stole the limelight with his eerie dialogue delivery.
Reportedly, the makers of Sholay 3D had earlier decided to remix the classic dance number Mehbbooba but later dropped the idea.
Film: Sholay 3D
Cast: Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Sanjeev Kumar and Amjad Khan
Director: Ramesh Sippy
Story line: The 3D version of the iconic movie, Sholay revolves around Veeru (Dharmendra) and Jai (Amitabh Bachchan), hired by a retired police officer Thakur Baldev Singh (Sanjeev Kumar) to capture the ruthless dacoit Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan).
In the Thakur's rural village, the duo finds romance and seeks to free the village from Gabbar and his followers. Veeru is attracted to Basanti (Hema Malini), a feisty, talkative young woman and Jai is drawn to Radha (Jaya Bhaduri), Thakur's reclusive, widowed daughter-in-law.
Skirmishes between Gabbar's gang and Jai-Veeru finally result in the capture of Veeru and Basanti by the dacoits. In the fight, Jai dies. Enraged, Veeru nearly beats Gabbar to death when Thakur reminds Veeru to handover Gabbar alive. Thakur then severely injure Gabbar and destroy his hands.
The 3D version of the 1975 classic, Sholay, has been a much awaited film as the original movie is still watched and loved. Produced by Sascha Sippy, grandson of GP Sippy who had financed the original, the new avatar promises to provide an entirely new viewing experience to the audience when it hits 1,000 screens.
Reportedly, Sholay might just get a sequel soon. The makers of Sholay 3D, Shehzad Sippy and Sasha Sippy, have already started working on the script.
