Bareilly Ki Barfi captures the romantic journey of Bitti Mishra (Kriti), a small town girl from Bareilly. During a train journey, Bitti reads a book titled ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, which describes a character just like her. Bitti can easily relate to the character in the book and she develops a deep fascination for the author of the book, Pritam Vidrohi (Rajkummar). She wants to meet the author, but it’s not easy to find him. So then, Bitti befriends Chirag Dubey (Ayushmann), who is the owner of a local printing press. Bitti and Chirag become close friends as they journey to find the author of the book, but Chirag has plans of his own.
Bareilly Ki Barfi is a success since everyone involved in the film has given it their best. Right from the writer and director to the actors, everyone is in perfect sync about the various aspects of the story and characters. Kriti Sanon will be remembered for her role as Bitty, as she has perfectly portrayed the emotions, dreams and dilemmas of a feisty small town girl. Ayushmann and Rajkummar Rao have also delivered impressive performances. The peppy songs add to the overall appeal of the movie.
Bareilly Ki Barfi is refreshing in its story, characters, and dialogues. One can say it’s a ‘barfi’ that is definitely worth trying.
